WORK OBJECTIVE

Conducts the development of Asian markets and supports development of African markets according to TAURUS International Sales Plan and objectives.
Achieves or surpasses all goals and targets related to Government Business in the region.
Cultivates and maintains strong customer relationships with military/LE and government officials at various levels to support the success of TAURUS’ International Sales business.
Coordinates meetings with government agencies and TAURUS representatives/distributors to gather market insights on requirements, sales strategy, competition, timing, and pricing.
Engages in TAURUS Global Sales activities for Military/LE and Government Sales in region, as well as Commercial sales in Asia.
Analyzes and understands customer capability requirements/gaps and contribute to the development of solutions aligned with TAURUS International Sales objectives and product line strategies.
Assists in establishing and communicating Business Development priorities in the region.
Ensures compliance with Taurus International Manufacturing, Inc. and company’s sales policies and processes. Shares best practices across the company as appropriate.
Participates in Capture/Proposal activities for approved opportunities, including Pursuit Decisions, Bid/No Bid gates, and Formal Pursuit Management Review meetings.
Takes part in international events, meetings, and demonstrations in the assigned region.
Manages the channel for profitability. Increase average margin where possible
International travel is required up to 30% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a minimum 5 years demonstrated Business Development experience relevant experience in the defense industry, specifically in international sales, strategy, development, or procurement. Direct experience in identifying and pursuing international opportunities. Requires directly-related experience equivalent to formal education in International Sales plus five (5) or more years’ experience in the manufacturing industry in a sales and marketing role; Direct international experience and a high-level of understanding of International Defense Industries, the MoD/Mol of African/Asian countries (preferred); LE/Military experience (Special Operations ideal) (preferred), Instructor-level Armorer Certifications (preferred)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services to include marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems
Knowledge of the firearm manufacturing industry
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedure or governmental regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public
Ability to delegate authority and responsibility
Ability to develop and administer departmental goals, objectives, and procedures
Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals
Ability to develop and administer budgets and financial reports
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the work of lower level staff
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station and extended periods of time standing and/or walking.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
