Performs intermediate level technical repair work for Taurus Holdings, Inc. Responsible for the repair and modification of firearms. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude. Position exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques.

  • Inspects firearms; analyzes mechanical movements among parts
  • Performs precision adjustments on firearm parts
  • Installs parts such as metallic, plastic, rubber, wood and pistol grips
  • Tests firearms with ammunition to determine factory specifications functionality, strength characteristics, correct alignment, and assembly of piece
  • Inspects firearms for functionality and cosmetic defects after assembling and test firing
  • Operates machines to grind and polish metal parts
  • Operates power and hand tools to repair firearms
  • Records information on needed documents
  • Maintains and organizes work stations
  • Wears all requested safety equipment (i.e. bullet proof vest)


High school diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) or more years’ firearm assembly experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.


  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of ¬†firearms
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to provide service in a courteous, prompt, and efficient manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to organize work for timely completion
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions


Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). May involve some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking or standing. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station and extended periods of time standing and/or walking.


Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature, and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles, vibrations, electric currents, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, gases or chemicals, oils and other cutting fluids, violence and/or disease, or pathogenic substances.


Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity. Some tasks may involve identifying and distinguishing colors.
